I invite applications from prospective PhD students whose research interests lie in the study of Japanese language in its context of use, particularly in one or more of the following areas: applied linguistics, CA-informed language teaching, interactional linguistics, interactional sociolinguistics, genre studies, semantic change, and computer-mediated communication.
